Looks like quite an interesting summer ahead – I will be spending nearly two months (July-August) at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne EPFL to develop a reasonable understanding of Drosophila genetics to answer some fundamental questions on immunity and evolution :). Many thanks to Prof. Bruno Lemaitre for generously hosting me in his lab and supporting my longstanding evolutionary questions with some cool mutant and RNAi lines that his lab has generated over the years. I also thank Mark Hanson (Doctoral student, Lemaitre Lab) for all the patience to answer my queries and showing things around..
At the end of August, I will attend 2nd Joint Evolution meeting at Montpellier, France. It’s the largest gathering of evolutionary biologists and nothing can be better than meeting them during summer at Southern France 😀
